Journal - Who is the oldest family member of your family you have ever met? What do you know about your family history? Have your parents ever told you anything thing about your family history?  Do you know what kind of heritage you have? Explain as much as you can about your family and any history you have knowledge of.

My oldest family member that I have ever met is my great grandma. She had just turned 100 when I met her, but she's dead now. I know a little bit about my family history... My mom tells me about her side of the family's history all the time. My mom's side is German. My great grandpa Klein (deceased) had to flee Germany during the war and soldiers came and took over his land. He had to leave behind his dog and he told us that was very hard. His family made it to America where he met my great grandma Klein (deceased) who was also from Germany. My great grandma had a hard life here in America. She had to marry a man she didn't love who beat her and treated her and her kids horribly just so she could stay here and support her kids. She finally got away from him and she met my great grandpa. Besides their rough beginning, they had a comfortable life living with their son, my Papa, until their deaths.

Journal - Which web design platform did you choose - Wix or Weebly? What are three things you've learned about Web Design so far?

I chose to use Wix. It's easier to use than Weebly and it also gives you more templates for your website. Three things I've learned about web design so far: 1. There are certain sites that can make it easy for you. 2. You have to make your website functional. (easy to navigate) 3. You don't have to start all the way from scratch.

Journal - What have you learned about making a website? Explain.

I've learned that it's much easier to make one these days. A few years ago, people wouldn't have thought that there would be websites that could actually make you your own. I think it's handy and helpful that there are sites to make your own website. It takes a lot of the dirty work out of it.

Journal - What do you know about building and creating a website? Have you ever done it before?  List qualities of a well designed and well functioning website.

I honestly don't really know anything about it. I know it's pretty easy these days... Not a whole lot of effort has to be put into it. Plus there are just so many tools/websites to use to make one. I made one when I was in like 7th grade or something... but I probably wasn't even doing it right. I think a well designed and well functioning website should look neat, be easy to use, and clearly show the user where things are located.

1. I thought Jacob McCrary's video was the best. It was about a pair of shoes that moved everywhere by themselves. I thought it was really thought out and it looked like it was put together really well.

2. I thought William Liu's video was the second best. It was made up of drawings of the harlem shake. It was super creative and it must've taken a while to draw all of those pictures, so I think the effort definitely paid off.

3. I thought Hunter Liggett's video was the third best. It started out as one fork but then a ton started coming out of it. It just looked interesting and kept my attention.

Journal - Tell me about two things you've learned while creating you stop-motion animation video. Go in to detail about those two items.

If I had to pick two things I learned from making my stop-motion video, I'd say 1. It takes a LOT of pictures to make a video. Ours was only 15ish seconds long and it took like 30 pictures. I can't even imagine how many it would take to make an actual movie. 2. It takes consistency to make the video look real. If I take a picture and accidentally move the camera or the prop, the next picture won't look similar to the last one, so the video won't look like a video, it will look like separate pictures.
