Journal - What makes a good introduction paragraph to an essay or paper?
I think a good introduction paragraph to a paper has to be direct. We have to have some idea of what your topic is about. The introduction paragraph should also be interesting and fresh. It shouldn't bore the reader to death because then the whole paper would be ruined. So to make sure this doesn't happen, you could start off your paper with an eye-catching phrase. It should be quirky and engage our interest as the reader. Another way you could start off your paper is to state your topic in a different way. Don't just say "Hi my name is blah blah and I'm going to tell you about blah blah blah". Think of a way to restate your topic in a way that engages the reader.
